XXVIII Seminar on Amber
"Amber 360° – Science, Heritage, Environment"
Can amber tell the history of the world?
On March 27, 2026, the 28th Amber Seminar will be held in Gdańsk as part of AMBERIF Spring 2026 – a meeting devoted to how modern science interprets information recorded in fossil resins.
This year's "Amber 360° – Science, Heritage, Environment" invites you to look at amber from multiple perspectives – from archaeology and anthropology to chemistry and environmental studies. The seminar will showcase the latest amber research conducted in Poland and abroad.
Archaeological and anthropological research allows us to embed fossil resins in the history of humans and cultures, while chemical and environmental studies provide insights into their composition, origins, and changes over time. The complementarity of these perspectives allows us to perceive amber both as a material with specific physicochemical properties and as a source of information about the environment and human relationships with nature.
This is a proposition for both people involved in science and for everyone who wants to discover amber in a broader perspective.
