National Fashion Competition "Black Na Biały" Jagoda Komorowska for young designers - high school students - general and artistic schools is organized cyclically by the High School of Fine Arts Jacek Mydlarski in Gdańsk and the High School of Individual Programs Adm. Józef Unrug in Gdańsk. The originator of the competition is Magdalena Arłukiewicz, clothing of clothing design, clothing designer, author of numerous fashion shows in Poland and abroad. Together with Jadwiga Możdżer from the theater studio - an actress, director, choreographer, Indonesian - they are guardians of the competition.
Each edition has a theme that is an inspiration for participants. In 2023, the subject was "Magic of Amber in fashion", in 2024 - "The magic of modern Gdańsk painting in Bursztyn and gold". The task of the competition participants is to create original fashion projects in accordance with the subject of a given edition. The best works are presented during the Final Gala, which takes place in prestigious places.
"Black on white" is not only an opportunity to present the talent of young artists, but also a platform for exchanging experience and making contacts in the fashion industry. Thanks to the support of numerous institutions, sponsors and honorary patrons, the competition gains prestige and becomes an important point in the calendar of cultural events in Poland.
The competition commemorates Jagoda Komorowska - an outstanding fashion critic and journalist who significantly influenced the development of the Polish fashion scene.
