The Association of Goldsmithing Artists (STFZ) is a creative association founded in 1991 in Warsaw at the initiative of Marek Nowaczyk. It brings together the majority of Polish visual artists and designers involved in goldsmithing. It currently has 120 members. Andrzej Bielak served as its president from 1991 to 2011. Marcin Tymiński currently holds this position, continuing the tradition and cultivating the legacy of his predecessors. The STFZ has made significant contributions to the artistic community and the development of contemporary goldsmithing in Poland, both artistically, legally, organizationally, and promotionally. The Association's goal is to promote goldsmithing in Poland and abroad, and to provide STFZ members with broad access to industry information, a network of contacts, and current and archival materials. The STFZ pursues its goals through co-organizing exhibitions, competitions, plein-air workshops, and courses. The Association of Goldsmithing Artists (STFZ) regularly organizes the PRESENTATIONS Artistic Jewellery Competition, which showcases the creative achievements of Polish and, since 2018, international goldsmiths. Together with the industry trade fairs Amberif (Gdańsk) and Gold Expo (Warsaw), the Association co-creates the Designers' Gallery, a space showcasing original and unique designs of high technical and artistic value, enabling goldsmiths to present themselves at national industry events. Since its inception, the Association of Goldsmithing Artists has collaborated with the Legnica Art Gallery and supported the Legnica SILVER Festival, honoring its winner in the International Goldsmithing Competition with its own award each year. The distinction is awarded in the form of a statuette designed by Jacek Byczewski. The STFZ space prioritizes the exchange of views, thoughts, and ideas, mutual inspiration, and the promotion of creative expression in jewelry as a fully-fledged art form.
