Update of the strategy of the Gdańsk World Amber Capital project was established on the initiative of the Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz.

We wanted the work on the document defining the key directions of action in the next 10 years to be inclusive, which is why many people and institutions related to amber and its promotion were involved in the work on the strategy, including: representatives of amber organizations, designers, manufacturers of jewelry and amber products, representatives of Gdańsk universities: the Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Gdańsk, as well as the Amber Museum, the Gdańsk Tourist Organization, the Pomeranian Regional Tourist Organization and representatives of the Gdańsk City Hall. An important element of work on the strategy was also cooperation with Natalia Hatalska-Woźniak's Infuture Institute, which deals with analyzing and forecasting trends. The result of this work is a comprehensive strategy, which was approved by the Presidential College on August 22, 2023. We would like to thank everyone who participated in this work.

We are excited that we have received the green light for further activities focused on building a positive image of amber in 2024. They include developing the project's brand identification, creating key advertising creations and implementing an intermedia marketing campaign. Additionally, we want to use the potential of the St. Dominic's Fair, which attracts a large number of visitors, to promote amber with a completely new, interesting version. These plans leave ample scope for cooperation with many entities. We cordially invite you to get involved in this year's activities and submit additional ideas and initiatives.
